12 Brilliant Actors Who Have Never Won An Oscar. . .

12 best

The 2017 edition of the Academy Awards honored plenty of well-deserving actors like Emma Stone, Viola Davis, Casey Affleck, and more. Though, there were plenty of snubs as well (yes, I’m talking about Amy Adams). This made me think of all those amazing actors who still haven’t won an Oscar in spite of giving several breathtaking performances in the past. Have a look at these actors who should have already gotten an Academy Award.

    1. John TravoltasourceThis might surprise you, but the legendary actor has never won an Oscar. Though, he has been nominated twice so far (Pulp Fiction and Saturday Night Fever).
    2. Amy Adamssource
Even after giving a soul-stirring performance in Arrival, Amy wasn’t even nominated for Oscars this year, which disappointed her fans. Though she has been nominated five times for the Academy Awards in the past already. Nevertheless, she still awaits her first big win.
    3. Robert Downey Jr.Robert Downey Jr. FOR SEVEN DAYS COVER STORYsourceRobert is known not only for his widely successful performance as Iron Man, but he has also won over critics with his performance in movies like Tropic Thunder or Chaplin. Even after two nominations, he never got an award as of now.
    4. Johnny Depp

sourceI know how surprising this can be! The man with many faces has been nominated three times till date. It seems like Jack Sparrow still needs that one life-changing performance to win his first Academy award.
    5. Tom Cruise

sourceEven after giving commercially successful and critically acclaimed performances, Tom Cruise is yet to win his first Oscar. He has already been nominated three times in the past.
    6. Harrison FordHarrison Ford, a cast member in "42," poses at the Los Angeles premiere of the film at the TCL Chinese Theater on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 in Los Angeles. 7. Glenn ClosesourceEven after bagging a total of 6 nominations, Glenn never got a chance to take the golden man home.
    8. Sigourney Weaver
sourceFrom Gorillas in the Mist to Prayers for Bobby, Sigourney has given some of the most critically acclaimed performances of her time. Even though she has been nominated three times for the Oscars, she is yet to bag her first win.
    9. Peter O’Toole

sourceThe legendary actor has been nominated eight times in the “best actor” category, but never got a chance to win the Academy Award. Though, the academy gave Peter an honorable mention in 2003 for his contribution
    10. Annette BeningAnnette Bening at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association press conference for the movie "Mrs. Harris" held in Los Angeles, CA on February 28, 2006. 11. Ed Harris

sourceEd Harris is considered as one of the greatest actors of his generation. Even after four nominations, he never got a chance to accept an Academy Award.
    12. Richard Burton

Did you really think I would conclude this list without mentioning this legendary actor? No one has been crueler to Richard Burton than the Academy. Even after getting as many as seven nominations, he never got a chance to hold the golden man. Though, he won plenty of other honorary awards like the BAFTA, Tony Awards, The Golden Globes, and more.

While it might be too late for Richard Burton, there is still some hope for our favorite stars like Johnny Depp or Amy Adams to bag their first Academy Award. More power to you, guys!
