But it is not only for the dishes which have made India popular. Thanks to our chefs, who have put forward their skills and make the local cuisines a global one without tampering the authentic quality of the food.
- Vikas Khanna
He is currently the number one chef in India who has really won our taste buds in a short span of time. He started off as a chef in his grandma’s kitchen in Amritsar. He has collaborated with internationally reputed chefs like Gordon Ramsey and Bobby Flay. In 2011, he prepared the meal for former US President, Barack Obama. He has a restaurant in the US named Junoon and has also appeared in the seasons of Masterchef India.
- Sanjeev Kapoor
He is perhaps the most popular chef in India who has been into the food industry for nearly three decades. He is also the face of a food channel called “FoodFood”. He has his own restaurant called “The Yellow Chilli” and has written a number of cookbooks. He is also the winner of a number of food competitions on an international level. He was also chosen as the Indian Ambassador to the US.
- Ranveer Brar
He is associated with the Novotel Mumbai, Juhu Beach as the senior official culinary expert and is one of the youngest chefs in India to have a global recognition. He is also the supervisor at the Dosa Factory and Shalimar in Cambridge and Mantra in Boston. He appears on Zee Khana Khazana’s famous show, “Health Bhi Taste Bhi”.
- Madhur Jaffrey
Madhur Jaffrey learned cooking when she went to Britain and joined the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. She has so far written 15 cookbooks and won accolades for her cooking.
- Anjum Anand
She was born and brought up in Kolkata and attended a cooking school in Thiruvananthapuram. The multi-talented chef began her journey with the Taj Group. She then went to Bangkok and started working at Red. She has opened her own restaurant Gaggan.
- Hari Nayak
He is one of the youngest Indian cooks who has authored a book called “Present Day Indian Cooking”. He has also collaborated with popular chef Daniel Boulud in another cookbook which was rated as the best of the season by the LA Times.
- Nita Mehta
She is also a popular chef in India who has written a number of cook books and has made various appearances as a judge on cook shows. She won the Best Asian Cookbook Award at the World Cookbook Fair in Paris for authoring a book called Flavors of Indian Cooking.
- Vineet Bhatia
Vineet Bhatia is a popular chef in Britain who has made Indian dishes popular internationally. He has also appeared on a number of international cooking shows. He has been twice starred as Michelin Chef.
- Atul Kochhar
He is a popular face on MasterChef and BBC’s Saturday Kitchen. He is the first Indian chef who got his Michelin Star while he was a chef in Tamarind, London.
- Saransh Goila
He became famous after he won the FOOD Maha Challenge competition and then won another called India Ka Super Chef. He is currently working at Roti Rasta Aur India. Another accolade that he is also to win is Limca Book of Records for being an Indian cook expert to have travelled 20,000 km on road in 100 days.
