Sometimes, getting lucky is not enough to generate revenue at the Box Office. It does not matter whether you belong from the supreme league or the newbie realm, in Bollywood, everything depends on the “public”. We love our Bollywood stars, but sometimes their movies are too boring or dull, worthy to be called as the biggest flops. Here’s a list of some of the biggest Bollywood flops till date:
Despite a thrilling backdrop of World War II and some strong performances from Kangana Ranaut, Shahid Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan, Rangoon couldn’t even make till the finish line. Set in the periodic era, Julia (Kangana) is a rising actress, fondly in love with her director and friend Rusi (Saif), until she falls in love again with a prisoner and then a warrior, Nawab Malik (Shahid) while trapped in the beautiful jungles of Arunachal Pradesh.
The trailer of the movie had generated hype among the audience, but sadly it turned into a heart-wrenching disaster.
- Ok Jaanu
Even the charisma of A.R. Rahman’s music couldn’t save the movie “Ok Jaanu” from being one of the biggest flops in 2017. Based on Mani Ratnam’s “O Kadhal Kanmani”, it failed miserably to generate the exact scintillating spell on the audience this time.
Lovers with commitment phobia issue is certainly not a fresh story, but we did hope to find something new in the story as promised in the trailer. Needless to say, the chemistry between Adi (Aditya Roy Kapoor) and Tara (Shraddha Kapoor) was not engaging at all.
- Sarkar 3
The Sarkar series by the duo Amitabh and Ram Gopal Verma had created a different benchmark for the Bollywood a decade ago. Unfortunately, this time it did not even make it to its own standards.
Seeing Amitabh Bachchan and Manoj Bajpayee together was supposed to be a raging story but this time the bloodbath war was somewhat monotonous and foreseen.
This movie was one of the biggest flops of the director duo Abbas-Mastan! Starring Kiara Advani as ‘Sara’ and Mustafa, Abbas’ son Mustafa, as ‘Ransh’, this movie was nowhere near to be called as a thriller, as its label says.
Even high-speed car chasing, romance, crime and retribution in the movie couldn’t save it from sinking.
One of the biggest flop of 2017 till date is the movie Tubelight, an ‘ambitious’ project of the duo Salman Khan and Kabir Khan.
Poor war-sequences, Salman’s cloyingly sweet face, Shahrukh Khan’s cameo, and Aseem Mishra’s camera work didn’t help Tubelight from becoming the biggest disaster.
- Jagga Jasoos
The latest addition to this list, Jagga Jasoos starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead as “Jagga” and Katrina Kaif as “Shruti”, his companion, the movie is also a scary mistake for the director Anurag Basu.
Made under the “Disney” production, the movie does have breathtaking cinematography, but in the end, melts into a gyrating confused story.
