One thing that always worries a bride throughout her wedding time is whether her makeup is in place. No-one would want their makeup to get all messy and runny. However, maintaining make-up throughout the day and for long hours is no easy task. Whether it is an outdoor or indoor wedding, a summer or a winter wedding there are chances of having a make-up meltdown. Sure you will be getting your make-up done by a professional but there are a few tips that should always be considered:
- USE A PRIMER
Primers are essential and contrary to the common belief that they are just an extra make-up product, they work really well if you are aiming to get long-lasting makeup. Primers help in smoothing the fine lines, open pores and wrinkles. With so many types of primers now available in the market, it is necessary that you select the right one. Know your skin well and select one that suits your skin type. A small amount of primer should be applied before the foundation is applied.
- WATERPROOF MAKEUP
This is the most essential and crucial part of wedding make-up. Waterproof make-up will definitely won’t leave you worrying about the state of your makeup and make you carefree. Also, waterproof makeups require comparatively fewer touchups. So, whether you would sweat or get all emotional during your wedding, you don’t have to worry about your makeup.
- APPLY AN OIL-ABSORBING BASE
Avoid using moisturizer or use it only if it is really needed. If used, apply some primer which would absorb excess moisture off your skin’s surface.Whenthe foundation is blended with an oil-absorbing baseit will stay consistent, smooth and seamless for a longer period of time. Also, make sure that your makeup is set with powderto get a glowy and blushing look. For this just leave your cheeks powder-free or apply very light powder.
- MIST ON A SETTING SPRAY
When work on your face is fully finished, spritz on some spray to lock the makeup in place. The spray that is specifically designed to neutralize heat and humidity effects should be used here. Also, be sure to keep some blotting papers with you so that they can saturate oil and sweat if necessary without wiping off your makeup.
- LIP LINER
Be careful to use a lip liner, which is the same shade as your lipstick. This will prevent your lipstick from bleeding. However, if your skin is of lighter tone, use a nude lip liner to keep the lip color in place.
It is very essential that your eyeliner or eye shadow does not smudge during the wedding. Use an eye shadow primer that is very identical to your face primer but slight gentler. After this, dust some translucent powder before your eye makeup is applied. Do this with an eye shadow brush. Be careful that whatever mascara and eyeliner you use are waterproof. You can also replace eye shadows with powders. Translucent powders don’t add any extra pigment but instead give off a matte finish look and also hold your makeup in place for long hours.
