Amidst all the preparation of the wedding, somehow paying enough attention to your hair takes a backseat. Sure you go to the parlor, get a hair spa, try different hairstyles and much more but it is never enough. On a day when you wish to look no less than a celebrity, you have to pay a lot more attention to your hair. Here are some of the common hair mistakes a bride normally ends up making prior to her wedding:
- EXPERIMENT WITH HAIR COLOR
Do not even try experimenting with hair color prior to the wedding. They can go terribly wrong and then you will wind up rectifying the mistake. Keep your hair natural and do not try anything new.
- LEAVE HAIR-STYLING ON PARLOUR PEOPLE
They know their job well and let them do it. Do not interfere. Just let them know whatever you want and how you want. But be careful to tell them what type of wedding it would be, what type of dress you would be wearing and what jewelry you would be wearing. That way they would style whatever they think would suit you the best.
- SHORTLIST MANY INSPIRATION PHOTOS
Narrow the inspiration photo to just a few odd ones. That will give the stylist a clear idea of what you really want. Having too many photos would only confuse both you and the stylist.
- DON’T SCHEDULE A TRIAL BEFOREHAND
Be sure that you schedule a trial beforehand. That way when you go for the final hairdo, nothing would be new for you or the stylist. You both would be having an idea about what look you want to go with. Also be careful to take along whatever hair accessories you wish to wear so that the stylist knows what you want to get done.
- WASH THEIR HAIR ON WEDDING DAY
Do not wash your hair on the wedding day. But do wash them the day before or the previous night. You do not wish to end up with dirty or oily hair. Washing hair on the D-day is not advisable because it would make them frizzy and make styling them difficult.
- CUTTING HAIR CLOSE TO WEDDING
Most brides do not choose to get a haircut close to the wedding so that they can keep it long. This would help in getting hairstyle done in a better way. However, it is advisable that you do get your hair trimmed few weeks before the wedding so that your split-ends are chopped off and your hair looks healthy. But be careful not to do this just few days before the wedding.
- USE A LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER
Be careful not to use leave-in conditioners from at least a week before the wedding day. It makes hair too soft and makes them too shiny or even too greasy which make it difficult to style them.
- PICK WRONG HAIR ACCESSORY
Picking wrong hair accessories would only end up giving you a misplaced and wrong look. Don’t overdo with accessories and keep it subtle. Also be careful that whatever you choose should match your outfit and give that perfect bling to your look.
