Our smartphone is a necessity. But with so many things that we do with it all day long, its battery life is a big concern for all of us. Those LCD touch-screens eat up so much battery that on an average we all need to charge our phones at least once a day. These days we do have a portable USB power banks with us that help us in an hour of need but here are few other ways that you can implement to save your smartphone battery from draining:
- USE AUTO BRIGHTNESS:
Most of the phone’s battery is drained because of its display power. Nowadays all the phones come with Auto Brightness mode which would enable the phone to adjust the screen’s brightness according to available lighting levels. Auto Brightness mode would use considerably less power than that would have been used if the phone were run on full brightness level.
- TURN OFF BLUETOOTH:
If you have linked your Bluetooth with various Bluetooth-devices like hands-free, activity tracker or any other; do turn it off whenever you do not need it. The Bluetooth would constantly be searching for signals and thus draining your battery.
- TURN OFF GPS:
GPS uses a lot of battery power. Sometimes many other apps too need an access to your location and thus turning on GPS. Remember to turn off GPS whenever it is not needed and check whether it is in use after those apps are accessed.
- TURN OFF VIBRATION:
You don’t want your phone to vibrate whenever you get a notification. Also, you don’t need those keyboard clicks and tiny vibrates whenever you type. Turn off vibration whenever you can set your phone to general mode. Vibration drains far more battery life than a normal ringtone does.
- CLEAR OUT APPS:
Remember to clear out the previously used apps from time to time. Even if the app is not being used, it will run in the background. This will drain your battery totally. Unused apps slowly drain your battery life.
- USE A DARK WALLPAPER:
AMOLED Screens illuminate only the colored pixels. So if you have an AMOLED screened smart-phone use black or dark-colored wallpaper. Hence, this way you will be having more of darker pixels which would need less power. Hence, if you do have serious battery drainage issues try putting on a black or dark-colored wallpaper.
- TURN OFF GOOGLE HOTWORDS:
This is a very handy and fantastic feature from Google. But the issue that your phone is always listening leads to some serious battery drainage. Use it only when needed and your battery life will be considerably increased.
- SET YOUR SLEEP SCHEDULE:
Activate blocking mode or set sleep times where in your Wi-Fi and mobile data would be turned off whenever not needed. So whenever you know that you won’t need your phone for a certain period of times, use this mode and save your battery from being unnecessarily being used.
- REMOVE UNNECESSARY WIDGETS:
If you have few unnecessary widgets that you most certainly haven’t used at all or are most unlikely to use, just delete them. Like the weather widget. They connect to the internet and in that process drain your battery.
