You are starting a new job after some days and you know how demanding it would be. You would be caught up in a hectic 9am-6pm schedule. So why not spend the time you have before starting that job wisely doing what you would love and also utilizing the time prepping up for the new job. Here are few ways in which you can utilize the time you have on hand:
- TAKE A SHORT VACATION:
You may not be able to go on a vacation for quite some time after starting the job. So why not plan a quick getaway, get few friends on board and just go on a vacation. A short fun-filled vacation is a perfect way to utilize that time you have and also a perfect way to start that corporate job.

Read a lot. Read about the company you are joining, corporate books, management books and so on. Reading will help you broaden your horizon and empower your thinking. Some acceleration that you need to start that job would be provided only by reading books. So even if you are not an avid reader, develop a habit of reading for at least half an hour a day.
- BINGE ON YOUR FAVOURITE SITCOMS
Nothing would be more relaxing than this. Just spend a whole day watching your favorite sitcoms and movies. Get some friends to join you or spend some alone time, it would be a perfect way to relax.
Make a habit of working out regularly. Also, make a point of meditating 15 minutes daily. This will calm your mind and body and you will feel much more confident about your new job. However, if possible do carry on working out and meditating even after you have started the job. This habit will inject positivity in you.
- SPEND SOMETIME WITH YOUR PARENTS
Whether you are shifting to a new city for your job or you are going to continue staying where you currently are, make a point to spend sometime with your parents before you start the job. You may not get to spend as much time with them after starting the job. So take them out for movies or dinner, and spend some quality time with them.
- GO SHOPPING
Go shopping and get yourself some comfortable workplace outfits. Even if you think you have enough appropriate outfits for the new job, buy some new ones. You never know when you may actually need those. After all, no amounts of clothes are enough, right?
- ENGAGE YOURSELF IN SOME ACTIVITY YOU LIKE
Take up any activity you like and spend some time doing it. Chances are you may not get to do it frequently after taking up the job. Be it any sports or any hobby you have, given some time doing it. After all, it is about self-indulgence and doing what you love. You will discover it gives you a great amount of satisfaction.
