June Carter started performing ever since she was 10 as she was born into a family devoted to music. When she was performing at the Grand Ole Opry in 1950, she met singer Johnny Cash backstage. Their first duet was “It Ain’t Me Babe” which came out in 1964. They finally became a couple in 1968 when Cash proposed her in front of a live audience.
