  1. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
    The movie released in 1998, Depp portrayed the character of Raoul Duke, a journalist based on the character of Hunter S. Thompson, the famous gonzo journalist. The movie shows Raoul’s drug-fuelled adventurous trip to Las Vegas with his attorney Dr. Gonzo. Although the film didn’t go on to be a huge hit but Depp delivered a strong performance.

  2. What’s Eating Gilbert Grape
    The movie came out in 1993 based on a novel by Peter Hedges and show Depp playing the titular character taking care of his brother Arnie, played by Leonardo DiCaprio who suffers from some kind of disability. The story tells about the struggles we make in our daily life to make both ends meet. It is said that Depp delivered one of his best-understated performance.

    Sweeney Todd is one of the most memorable Johnny Depp movies and was released in 2007. The movie offers an insight into the Bonanno Family in the 1970s for whom Pistone fights an almost lost battle to prove his loyalty to the family and the FBI and eventually getting dragged into the world of crime and hatred.

Depp plays Edward, a man with scissor-like hands and is adopted by a suburban family. Depp falls in love with the family’s daughter, played by Winona Ryder and the event that follows.
