Life is full of ups and downs. There will be many such phases in your life when everything seems dark and colorless. However, it is not really easy to remind oneself at that time that everything will be okay and that the phase will pass. Sometimes, even after our best efforts nothing seems to go right and it is not easy to pull ourselves back up together. It is in such times that we need some positivity and words of encouragement. So, next time you find yourself in such a position, remember to read few of these words that will help find you light at the end of the tunnel:
- Sometimes you need to talk to a 4-year old and an 84-year old to understand life again
We all need a different perspective on life sometimes. We complex things and make things what they are not. This is when other’s opinions are welcomed. While a 4-year old will simplify things for you, an 84-year old’s experience in life will be invaluable.
- The one who falls and gets up is much stronger than the one who never fell
There are numerous sayings about failing and getting up again. However, when we actually fail, it definitely hurts and is discouraging. But it is always good to remember that failing is important to understand what success is. Failing makes you strong and thus is a stepping stone.
- Some days you tame the tiger. And some days the tiger has you for lunch
This is a very deep saying which explains that not all days in life are same. Some days you will conquer the world while on some days you will be conquered. Tiger here is a metaphor and thus explaining that while few days all will be bright and sunny, few other days will be grey and dark.
- Whatever you do, never run back to what broke you
Going back will be very tempting. On some days when you are feeling low, you will have a temptation of going back to something or someone that were in the past. However, at such points remember the reason why they are in the past and never ever go back. If it can hurt once, it can hurt twice too.
- Your first instinct is usually right
This is because your first instinct normally comes from your heart. Not your mind. Thus, it is always good to listen to your heart. Believe what your heart says and follow it.
- It is not the load that breaks you down, it is the way that you carry it
Sometimes when we find something difficult, we tend to leave it at that. But don’t just give up. Think about pros and cons, probabilities of doing things differently and changing the way of doing it. May be at the second attempt, you will find an easier way out.
- If you have nothing to be grateful for, check your pulse
Every new day is a gift. Remember to be grateful for each day that you are living. Even if things are not going the way you want them to, the very fact that you are breathing is huge and something to be thankful for.
